Bakedo is envisioned as a boutique dessert destination that brings the bold, indulgent spirit of New York City’s iconic cookie culture to Kochi. More than a dessert shop, the space is designed as an experiential interior where architecture, branding, and food come together to create a memorable sensory journey rooted in warmth, playfulness, and urban charm.
Design Concept
The design concept is driven by playful minimalism inspired by cookies. A restrained monochrome base is animated through textures, arches, and terrazzo accents that subtly reference cookie forms and chocolate chips. Clean architectural lines are softened with curves and warm wood, creating a balance between raw urban character and inviting comfort.
Spatial Planning & Zoning
Arrival & Threshold Experience:
The arched entrance acts as a visual cue, instantly establishing Bakedo’s identity. The door and window arches draw inspiration from the silhouette of a cookie, creating a strong first impression.
Display & Ordering Zone:
Positioned prominently at the front, the display counter showcases freshly baked cookies while integrating the billing counter and coffee bar. This zone becomes both a functional core and a visual highlight, encouraging interaction and impulse purchases.
Kitchen Viewing Window:
An arched kitchen opening allows customers to visually connect with the baking process, reinforcing freshness, transparency, and brand storytelling.
Bench Seating Zone:
Continuous wooden bench seating lines the walls, maximizing seating in a compact footprint. Suspended round tables attached to the benches introduce a playful twist while maintaining spatial efficiency.
Casual Dine-In Zone:
Small table clusters are arranged to allow quick bites and relaxed seating without disrupting circulation, supporting Bakedo’s fast-paced dessert culture.
Circulation Spine:
Clear linear circulation connects entry, counter, seating, and kitchen, ensuring smooth customer movement even during peak hours.
